Congratulations to our Member of the Month, Cynthia Gunter, who has been a member since September 2018. Cynthia's warm and loving spirit embodies the energy we thrive to share at the House of Love. She was one of our biggest supporters during the height of quarantine and virtual classes, joining us on Zoom almost every day. We hope you'll give her a *wave* next time you see her in the studio. Learn more about her journey with us in her own words by reading her written piece below:
I moved to Parkland three years ago, and from day one, started hearing the buzz about this great studio called Evolution Yoga & Fitness. I took my first class, it was apparent the buzz was well-deserved, and I was hooked!
I became a member to afford the opportunity to work daily toward a yoga foundation starting out with 'O.G.' Maxine Schwartz’ no-nonsense Hot Power Flow, Amy Frank’s soulful and dance-like yoga flows, and rounding off with Vicky Santana’s dark and mystical Follow the Yogi series.
It took a while for me to venture beyond my weekly staples for fear that the other instructors couldn’t possibly be the same caliber, but man, was I wrong: there are so many great classes that are not only a blast (like Tresa Anderson’s Bootcamp), but a great opportunity to cross train (April Pulli’s Hot Pilates for example), and all the instructors at Evolution are truly amazing – there are no lemons in the lot!
I introduced my daughter to Evolution initially through Rylan Knox’s tumbling workshops, and subsequently with Patty Martinez’ Saturday Kid’s Yoga classes, which she loves, and nothing makes me happier than to share the Evolution Family with my own family.
A huge thank you to April Clendenin, the Studio Manager, and the front desk staff who always greet us with a warm smile upon arrival, and with those deliciously cool towels at the end of class. Thank you to Studio Owner/Operating Partner, Maxine Schwartz for keeping the doors to this oasis of calm and kindness open amidst the unrelenting onslaught of the past 22 months. To all the strong and amazing ladies (and gentlemen) I get the privilege to sweat and laugh alongside; Happy New Year, and I can’t wait to see all the old and new faces in class in 2022!
